Hey Balatro modding community! I'm developing the Balatro Mod Manager (BMM), a tool that will make installing and managing mods super easy for everyone. The project has made great progress, but I need your support to bring it to all platforms.

Why Support BMM?

  • Easy one-click mod installation
  • Automatic mod updates
  • Clean mod management interface
  • Cross-platform support (Windows & macOS)

Current Challenges:
To properly release BMM for both Windows and macOS, I need to:

  • Purchase Apple Developer License ($99/year) for macOS code signing and distribution
  • Set up proper code signing for Windows
  • Cover hosting and distribution costs

If you'd like to support BMM's development, you can contribute here:

Every contribution helps bring BMM closer to release! Thank you for your support! 🙏

here is a small demo (sorry about the quality)

Oh, hey a thread! Nice

#

Watching the demo, I feel like a "automatically install dependencies" button would make sense to add?

I’m excited for this. Would be a really good tool for modding the game beyond just making a new folder every time you want to make a new setup.

this looks amazing! just spent almost a day trying to add cryptid on mac and was so frustrating ...

UPDATE: Caching (blazingly fast) is now fully implemented. This will prevent the user from getting any API rate-limits 🎉

Hello, I am new here and to modding in general so sorry if the answer is simply and I missed it I swear I read the post and the ko-fi link to get answers first.

Is this currently available to use, or still unreleased until development is further along?
Does it work on the steamdeck?

Thank you for your hard work!

# deft wharf good point lol

Everyone should have the freedom to use it and also it's also more beneficial for the project itself, since people can contribute to it, without me needing to employ them

#

I am just not making to open source now, since it's not finished yet

wide snow
#

not like there's an another option, even if you were allowed to release it as a paid closed-source product here it would never take off

#

which makes it wonder if theres a paid mod manager for anything

imagine a subscription service for a mod manager

brisk dune

crimson jay
#

sounds like the last thing I'd publicly support

queen wyvern
#

I mean paying for mods kinds of undermines the whole idea of modding no?

wide snow
#

it's just worse dlc at that point

queen wyvern
#

Fr

#

Mods are about having the freedom to do whatever you want

#

Paying for it just seems pointless

wide snow
#

im glad we don't have to worry about that very much at all here

queen wyvern
#

Yeah

#

And if someone does make a mod paid, it’s most likely going to be leaked and pirated

brisk dune
#

Also, if buying isn't owning then pirating isn't stealing

100% agree with the thoughts here on paid mods

quick question; do you have any plans to implement "profiles" as such? basically allowing for people to set up loadouts with specific mods in that can be launched separately so people can muck about with stuff like the big overhaul mods or stuff that adds a load of content such as cardsauce n that

#

would be a nice feature if its possible at all

still panther
final topaz
#

oh huh. does steamodded let you disable/enable mods on a per profile basis? i had no idea

still panther
#

it doesn't

final topaz
#

ah.

#

well there you go

#

that and the idea would help the program live up to its name as a "mod manager"

still panther
#

so what, you just want a "quick switch" between 2 different mod lists?

final topaz
#

yea thats kinda the idea

thick radish
#

that'd be really useful for me

final topaz
#

ill admit im not the one asking for it but a friend is. they asked about it more broadly speaking and this was like the closest thing i could see that would actually implement that

thick radish
#

i like to switch between vanilla+ stuff and cryptid

still panther
#

yeah makes sense then, wouldn't mind that feature either
