When are you using hieroglyph, is it like ante 1 you dont have pillar, you use heirglyph ante 2 that has pillar to go to ante 1, and then cards from the previous ante are debuffed or like what?

they're saying they've played for example 2 blinds, they buy hieroglyph to go back an ante, but the pillar still debuffs the cards they played in the higher ante
