I've heard Balatro described as "Poker meets Solitaire". While this might not be entirely accurate, it had me thinking about what other card games might be interesting enough to include some of their elements in the game. Initially, I thought about them becoming Jokers, but I like the idea of them being Boss Blinds instead, changing the playstyle for the round. Here are some of my ideas:
Euchre
Each scoring hand must contain a pair of Jacks, either Heart/Diamond or Spade/Club.
Rummy
Each scoring hand must contain a Three of a Kind or Four of a Kind.
Blackjack
The total rank of all scoring cards cannot exceed 21.
Speed
The boss blind must be defeated within a predetermined time limit (potentially 1 minute or less).
Solitaire
Standard scoring, hands, and hand limits do not apply. The goal is to build a full-suit run, from Ace to King.
