Birthlatro is the hit new Balatro mod adding a new mechanic: Pregnancy!

In Birthlatro, you can make a big happy family with all your jokers!

How does it work?

In Birthlatro, there's a joker called the Nursery. It is a rare joker. To use the nursery, you must highlight the nursery, a male joker, and a female joker (male x male and female x female coming soon, homosexual reproduction is very difficult to program in Balatro). Then, you press the "Begin Conception" popup button. After 1 round, the Nursery text will be updated to show one of two jokers. You will either be given a clone of the father or a clone of the mother. Then, after a given amount of rounds (depending on the rarity of the father/mother), the Nursery will produce the clone. During conception and pregnancy, the maternal joker will be debuffed.

Families

When you have a joker roster comprised of entirely one family (optionally also a Nursery), all the jokers will have some bonuses added to them. These bonuses include:

• 1 in 2 chance to be retriggered
• 1 in 5 chance to give $5 on trigger
• 1 in 2 chance to give twice as much mult/chips as usual

However, a family comes with downsides. When you sell a joker that is part of a family, all jokers that are part of that family will be heartbroken. Those jokers will be debuffed for 3 hands, and they will then resume normal activity.
