Your deck is joker cards and your joker slots are now playing cards. This way you have to use the set of Jokers in your hand in order to gain the highest points from the cards above.

That would be the intention, kind of like deck fixing but for the right joker cards instead.
On the other hand, I'm not sure how the tarot that change the face would work, maybe those could still affect the cards in the joker slot?
