Game is nonstop crashing, not sure what is causing it. It only started after starting a game on my laptop and continuing it on my actual PC. It's a different error every time.
So far I've tried reinstalling, verifying, nuking the app data folder, updating BIOS, and updating graphics drivers. Any ideas?

Do you have an overclocked component by any chance?
Unless something was overclocked on my pc by default when I built it no
You never even enabled XMP/EXPO?
(Maybe this would've been reset by a BIOS update? Not sure)
No
I've only seen this issue when the person either modded their game or had overclocked their components to unstable levels, so if it's not either of those 2 I'm not sure
Yeah I read through some of those threads as well, no mods installed so I’m really not sure
Just for logging sake, what CPU do you have?
i9-13900k I’m pretty sure, will verify in a moment
Oh boi, intel 13th gen. Did you get the fix for it?
Fix?
You don't know? https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/July-2024-Update-on-Instability-Reports-on-Intel-Core-13th-and/m-p/1617113
I knew there was problems with this gen but when I was originally trying to fix it I couldn’t find a fix, updating bios fixed most of the original issues. I’ll check this out, thanks!
Good luck! Let me know if you find a fix for the balatro crashes 🙃
I regret to inform you I’ve had this fix installed already, going to contact intel tomorrow
I've been trying to play more and it only seems like it's happening while I'm streaming the game in a discord call now? Streaming the game in a call also gets rid of my cursor unless I toggle vsync after I start streaming but I think that's unrelated?
that's an issue I've heard before

Been messing with it a little more and it seems like it still crashes if I'm in a discord call without screen sharing. Playing on windowed mode also doesn't stop it.
Update: has nothing to do with discord, it crashes either way :|
i am having the same issue. I have played for 45 minutes and had 6 crashes. Tried all the same steps. It is a new PC thats less than 3 weeks old. It is a 14th Gen i7, so unsure if that is the issue but all updates are done for it.
Haven’t crashed in quite a while, looks like one of the recent updates fixed my problems
got same issue, have no idea why its crashing... cant find fix
Same issues for me
I do have the same processor though. Though i only have this issue with balatro
I've got the same issue. Intel 14900K, crashes quite often. A lot of different reasons. I've tried two different BIOS patches, and different setting for overclocking to stabilize. Only happens in Balatro, no other games.
The bios update may have fixed it for me
Still linked to some kind of instability in balatro obviously since it only happens with balatro but I may be able to side step it
Which BIOS update? To microcode 128?
I updated to 1.16.1 for my alienware
@primal kelp were you able to fix it?
Nopes I gave up trying. I keep trying it after each patch with no success. 🤷♂️
it helps to quit discord and razer sync before start balatro
did you have problems with other games?
smh
Nah no issues at all. Everything else plays fine
dont know if this helps you
but i have an intel 14th gen
and I had to download intel extreme tuning utility because i had crashes with wow
and had all cores in 60 / 57 and changed them to 57 / 54 and it fixed the problem
it seems that some windows update or smth changed the values back to default ( 60 / 57) and thats when i started crashing in balatro
since i changed it back to 57 / 54, no crashes
As far as I can see I'm not on the 60/57, so I don't think it is that if I am looking at the right thing 😂.
Is it the performance per core tuning?
