I tried reinstalling and restarting but it didn't help. I'm kind of out ideas now. Here's the crash report:

M1 Big Sur isn't supported, you need to update your OS.

I was worried that was the issue. For whatever reason I've been having difficulty upgrading the OS. Oh well. But you should update the reqs. on your steam page, it displays Big Sur as supported.
