magic is too similar to tarots and spectrals as well as their ortalab versions

It is something I've not seen in a Balatro mod yet (at least from my memory)

The core concept of Code cards is that they "break the game" (allow you to disobey the Balatro rules)

Assuming we want this inverted, we'd land on something like "support the game" (bigger rewards for following the rules than normal).

Magic and relics as the basis could follow this in design but when I think of theming it doesn't really match

Their appeal comes from bending the rules to your benefit than following them

Also: code can be looked at as a real-world equivalent to magic

We cast spells (write code for mods) to do important tasks (creating M jokers) with made-up archaic languages (insert assembly joker here)

But yeah I'd definitely say that's it's closer to how Familiar would approach Cryptid content due to thematic adjacency than something for Ortalab.

• Calicem Crustulam (Reversed Reroll Exchange): Rerolls are all now free. Items in a shop cost 1$ more per reroll you do (resets upon exiting a shop). Reroll Exchange will give you 2$ per reroll you do.

• Zenith (Reversed Dexterity): Blind size is reduced by 25% per hand you play (multiplicative, and max of 75% per Blind).

Yes.
It's the exact counterpart to Tredecim, so most of it is opposites, with M being replaced with H, creating H Jokers after the shop instead of rounds, and the Powerchips is increased from gaining H/Foolish Jokers instead of selling them.
Heck, the name is the latin version of eight, which is h.
