Hello. I recently got Balatro, and I've been having an odd issue that I can't find much mention of online. My game will frequently crash at irregular intervals, for varying errors, and at varying times of gameplay (playing a hand, browsing the shop, finishing a round, there hasn't been any one consistent thing that seems to cause it.) The error messages I get are usually something along the lines of the image posted. Does anyone know what's going on, and how I could fix this? Thank you.

I have reinstalled, verified files, and tried a new save too, none of which have solved the issue
why don't you enable crash reports so the developer receives these
Pardon, I couldn’t find the option to enable crash reports
Yeah Thunk removed it (I assume he got spammed with too many modded crashes). Are you running any mods by chance?
oh whoops. thunk should update that message then
Setting still technically exists, just no UI element to change it ¯_(ツ)_/¯
No mods on my end, nope... I only just started playing the other day so it's about as fresh a game as can be
attempt to index 'self' (a number value)
hmm, this error doesn't make any sense to me, especially since it seems to be happening on unexpected lines, and in multiple places
you are running 1.0.1m-full, correct?
Yeah I am. It's really weird, I can't seem to reproduce any of the errors at all
Yeah if you've never run mods, verified the files, and are running the latest version, I'm starting to think it might be a hardware problem
I have the exact same issue, no mods. Windows 11 machine where the hardware works perfectly in all other software/games.
If I'm lucky I can go 30 minutes without a crash. Sometimes I'll get 4 or 5 crashes within 10 minutes.
sometimes the client just closes as well
@chrome grotto I went into my BIOS and turned off XMP for my RAM and AI overclocking and the game seems to be stable now
this is the only game I've had issues with in 3 years, but I found others who had solved it for Balatro this way
~1 hour with no crashes so far.
