Not able to play game/game crashes instantly on opening

I get this error message when attempting to open Balatro. This is the first time I've installed/attempted to run the game. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the game several times, including restarting my laptop, to no avail. Any help? I'm on Windows 11 on a Surface

im pretty sure you'd need a luasteam.dll file

check if that exists

if not i think u can install from here
