What if my 2 favorite games came together. Call Of Duty: Zombies and Balatro? I played a lot of COD: Zombies growing up and I hope im not the only one in this discord. I feel like there's a lot of potential to make a fun mod out of this. I've made art for a couple Jokers and Tarot cards but i'm not the greatest artist. I also don't know how to code so if anyone is interested in helping with the project it could be cool! Also if a better artist than me wants to touch up my work thats great too. Feel free to leave ideas in the replies.

Quick Revive: Revives you once then expires.
Double Tap: Makes all cards played in hand retrigger
Juggernog: Provides 2 Extra hands and discards
Speed Cola: Increase Hand Size by 2 and always draw one more card than you play
For now thats all of the Jokers I've currently made art for. I also made 2 tarots as well
Double Points: Use this tarot and any money made this round is doubled. Ends when you defeat the blind.
Insta Kill: Use this tarot card to instantly kill a small or big blind, Otherwise do 50% damage to a boss blind.

Tarot card: "Carpenter" - Use this tarot card to repair the last destroyed, extinct, or broken card. E.g Grim destroys a card you didn't want destroyed, Gros Michel Dies, or a glass card breaks.
Tarot card: "Max Ammo" - Use this tarot card to fully replenish your Hands and discards.
Tarot card: "Fire Sale" - Use this tarot card on one shop to reduce all prices to $2
Joker: "Mule Kick" - Provides 2 extra Joker slots and 1 extra consumable slot. 2 obviously because this would take up 1 slot on its own.

The nuke? I thought about that. I thought about either making it a spectral card or maybe a legendary joker and it would nuke all 3 blinds letting you move on to the next ante. Idk if thats even possible to code. If not maybe just make it a tarot card and you can nuke the shop rerolling it for free?

It's a genuinely good idea, I've thought about doing Perk-a-Cola Jokers (The perk Bottles) for my mod in the past but decided against it. I have notes in my phone for the Jokers that actually look pretty dang similar to what your descriptions are. I think the machines are a much better idea than colas. And ty for the compliment!
That's so awesome! It was your raygun joker that actually inspired me to even start concepting. Then I realized how many mechanics from the game could work really well with Balatro.
I will say another reason I didn't go through with it before was that the Perk-a-Colas, by nature, mostly make sense to act as utility Jokers. But I think we can make it work.

I have to figure out how Tarot/Spectral card coding works before I can really give a lot of input on the Power Drops like insta-kill, max ammo etc, but with Jokers I have a bit of experience there

I think it would be nice if they didn't have any card borders around the machines. Just empty pixels. I think Quick Revive and Double Tap are actually pretty dang solid, Speed and Jugg need resized entirely

Another idea would be if DT 1.0 has a 1 in 2 chance to retrigger all cards played (Fire rate), and DT 2.0 has a lower chance to retrigger (1 in 3) but also adds a Flat 2X Mult (Damage) but idk that could be broken.

Didn't DT1.0 have a 50% fire rate increase (1 in 2) and when they made DT 2.0 in a random hotfix on BO2 they lowered it to 33% (1 in 3) but added the 2X damage That actually would fit perfectly if so

I think it would be made for, and with it's intended audience in mind. I personally don't add modpacks to my collection that features lots of content referencing things I'm completely unfamiliar with. And I think that's how most ppl picking out mods will feel as well. If you enjoy(ed) CoD Zombies you'll enjoy this mod. And if you're one of those ppl who just like adding as much content as possible to your game, I would hope there is something here you would enjoy. From me, (if everything works out with this mods creation,) I do not want to make anything that is completely busted, balance is something I try to respect when I make my Jokers. I can't speak for everyone involved though but that's my take on this mod

with every mod i have installed, (nearly 1000 jokers) it works fine, i don't see why it wouldn't be compatible based on the way I coded it but I'm not very familiar with these issues if im being honest

Idk if you guys are still trying to figure out what nuke and instakill will do (was reading earlier in the thread) but maybe since when you have instakill in CoD you usually use your weaker weapons or your knife, the joker effect could be something like the hand is worth 10x mult if it only has one card in it

I think the team was thinking of Instakill and nuke etc as Tarot cards. (Which is something I'll have to learn more about coding) though nothing is final and any suggestions are welcome!

I like how you'll be able to use your 3 total revives across multiple rounds/antes instead of just a one time use almost auto win like bones. Also it vanishes after 3 total uses which is just 😎👌
In higher stakes there are so many times where im just one hand short. My joker "Cotton Candy* from BJ+ has saved me so many times it's not even funny. I think this will be solid. But we can always play test later

so that way you get both of them and it balances out to be like

I can also add +mult, +chips, xmult etc to the jokers that only serve as utility jokers if need be. To spice em up. Ik thunk has a 1 thing per joker rule but idk if i care too much about that or not with this mod

Yeah! Because Mr.Bones lets you move on and start the next round but Quick Revive you get a second chance but with no perks you still have to fight to get back to where you were.
I think we should. Bigger hands really help Straights more than anything, which is the hand type I think of (i.e. Runner) when I think of Stamin-Up.

Me n Joey J discussed it a bit and we were thinking the goal could be to get the base 4 perks + DT2.0 for a launch. Now, I'll have to get everyones opinion on this, but i think maybe we should shoot for the base 4 + Stamin-Up, PhD, Deadshot, Mule Kick, and DT2.0. Maybe add the Ray-Gun over from BJ+ and launch with 10 Jokers. Or we can just wait and launch it later with more jokers, consumables, etc etc. We definitely don't have to decide now, but its something to think about.
Good thoughts. I like having a smaller achievable goal in your wheelhouse because I know the consumables would be a huge learning curve and take a lot of time. Of course we are also on nobody's clock and don't have a deadline. We could even do what others have done and release a DEMO. Let people play with like 10 jokers, feel them out, and provide feedback and bug test.
With BJ+, my goal was launching with six jokers, and i just added when I could. Worked out well enough, but the mod didn't really pick up steam until it was more established/polished
What would really help us is 1 more coder for the mod good at consumables.
I think i can figure them out, its the stuff like adding custom packs and Pack a punching (editions) that intimidate me.

umm, tbh, I loved WaW-BO4, like really, really loved Zombies through this era. I can't bring myself to support BO6 day one, might buy it later if it looks worth my time. My concern is the Quality of Maps and difficulty.
It will never be what it was no. But after Vanguard and MWIII's shitstorm this is looking better plus Treyarch is Goated. Also it will be on Gamepass if you just want to check it out and not commit to buying it.
Cold War really left a bad taste in my mouth. Felt like the maps were almost AI generated. I never even tried MW3 or Vanguard i knew better .

BO3 was just so fun. It started adding boss fights to the easter eggs and I actually liked gobblegums even though they made the game easier, and I still play it too this day because of custom zombies on the steam workshop. People have made some banger maps on there, infinite replayability.

Yes origins Bo2 was the best. BO4 really wasn't as bad as people said it was. It wasn't my favorite but still I liked IX. I do think they should have never changed the point system tho.

The reason ppl say something felt off with BO4 onwards is bc they changed something noone ever discusses. Pre-BO4, Bullet penetration was much much stronger. Bullets would penetrate 3 or more Zombies and Zombies in groups would drop a lot quicker. BO4 - present, you're lucky to get a bullet to penetrate more than 1 or 2 Zombies. You can test this, In BO4 and cold war you can get overran even with an active instakill bc the bullets dont penetrate enough Zombies. "Dead" Zombies continue to soak bullets for some reason. Ik that probably sounds weird , but there is definitely a different feel bc of this. Mechanics were 100% changed. I've never seen anyone talk about this so maybe i'm crazy
Wow, i've actually never noticed or heard about this. This does sound like it adds some challenge though. Which is fine anyways as long as you can train good. I feel like I can train pretty good after years of playing.
The result is the player feeling weaker i think. Which is a big reason as to why I think ppl didn't like BO4. Doesn't help that there was no Double Tap. And same bro, remember the first few times you loaded up CoD Zombies and could only get to like round 6. Lol i miss those days. Got too good at it. But now im yappin, gonna go work on DT

And its a little different from cold war. In CW you could go to a station and use Salvage to repair and upgrade your armor. You could also pick up armor plates dropped from killing enemies and running over it would repair.

In BO6 they changed it so instead you get armor from a chalk wallbuy all 3 tiers so it costs $ not salvage which im kinda ok with. What im not excited about is that to repair your armor you have to hold Triangle or whatever key on your keyboard is to manually put armor plates on like in Warzone.
And you can hold a limited amount of them so you can either pick some up from enemies or craft them at the crafting tables

dang, rumor, i thought that was confirmed. Not into it as much as i used to. Augment features i have lightly heard of. That's like the custom perk mods right?
So there will be 108 at launch and yeah its modifications that you can make to your Perk, ammo mods, and field upgrades. Each thing will have 3 major augments and 3 minor augments and you can apply 1 of each at a time. Check out the ones for Jugg.

They also released an article the other day about the prestige rewards because they are bringing back classic prestige. Prestige 1 goes so hard and it really tailors towards zombies.

I love this idea so much as a fan of Call of Duty BO6 can't come soon enough holy shit. The perk ideas you've had so far are a great time, I'd love to see some more added. Vulture Aid would probably be a good laugh if you can find a few things for it to do that don't just make it "worse than insert perk here". Oh god there's a million BO4 perks too

Not sure yet we are trying to go somewhat in order I think. But that isnt a bad idea. While you have this joker see through all cards, or just they cant be flipped in general because making an x-ray or see through flipped card is probably too hard to code.

That's reasonable, if you wanted to work off the BOCW version as it is the better version, a way of doing the "+20% salvage (and high-end salvage ooooh)" could be to make celestial cards +20% on chips and/or mult.
@untold rose sorry for ping but I'm open to try and fix the jonklers whenever since it's not a huge deal. Most of them are a little smaller then joker default
fixed QR and Speed Cola (as those were the two with the extra pixels on one side) and fixed DT1 being unnaturally high
it's gonna be a bit shorter then the other perks but that's intentional
Should be able to just put them on a normal sized canvas go make it easy without having to fiddle with atlas size

I do have a few ideas for the perks as jokers or tarots, though these are just ideas I came up with at a moment so I’m mostly just unsure.
Stamin-up tarot: when used, sets you back 1 ante
Deadshot: Your most used poker hand gains a x2.5 multiplier
Electric Cherry: Depending on the amount of cards left in deck, gain mult and chips (unsure how much yet)
Vulture aid: Allows you to see the joker tag (polychrome, negative, rare, uncommon, etc)
Der Wunderfizz tarot: Gives you a random joker perk at a fixed cost
Elemental pop tarot: Gives you one of each card enhancement in current deck randomly
PhD slider/flopper: Every straight adds 5 +mult permanently to the joker
Melee Macchiato tarot: when used replaces every +mult with Xmult for the round only (if that’s even possible)
Timeslip: Scaling jokers earn double
Stone Cold Stronghold: When using only 1 hand constantly, gain more chips and mult until a different hand plays
Bandolier Bandit: Increases joker slot, discard, and hand size by 1
Blaze Phase: When player discards or plays hand, build up Xmult up to x3 (playing or discarding 3 times in a row). When the player does the opposite the 4th time, active card.
Secret sauce: Gives a random joker

I've been dealing with stuff in my personal life and have distanced myself from Balatro modding and Discord entirely. I'm sorry I haven't been working on this mod and I doubt I will be able to continue on with it. I was reluctant to begin this project bc of personal things and i wish i hadn't honestly bc I don't want to let anyone down. I do have the file for the completed coding of the main Perk-a-Cola jokers though if you guys want it. They are completely functional. I really wish I could continue on with this mod and my mod Balatro Jokers PLUS (Loved making that mod). I just can't.
