I had a disabled perishable negative Scholar, Rocket, Perkeo, eternal Bull, perishable Brainstorm and active perishable Invisible Joker on Gold Stake with the Plasma Deck. I sold the Invisible Joker copied scholar it was not negative disabled or perishable. When I sold both the negative scholar and the new scholar I ended with only 4 joker slots.

btw @worn thorn, not sure if you care, but since you're on pc, you could try to fix this manually by uploading your save file to https://balatro.shorty.systems/ and setting the joker limit back to 5
