#Game does not launch (unlike other posts I've seen)

My game will try to launch but I never even get a window to come up. Steam will say its running for a little bit but then it crashes before I can even see anything. I have tried verifying game files, reinstalling, updating window/video drivers, and launching straight from the exe with a lot of different properties enable and disabled. None have worked unfortunately. The game has also been updated a few times since I have had this issue, I cant seem to find anyone else with this issue unless I suck at googling. Any recommendations to try?
I have a 4090 and an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core. I can update with any other needed info. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for the quick response! I am on windows 11. My issue has the same symptoms of the first post (missed that one my b!) but their issue was resolved by an update, where mine is still present after updating the game. Maybe it is a similar issue? I tried what was mentioned in the post am I putting below this but I had no luck. I did not have a save.jkr (maybe from uninstalling and reinstalling?) and I did have the settings.jkr but my was in Balatro\ not Balatro\1. After deleting I had the same issue. I also then reverify my files and no luck.

and then another thing that has helped other issues is going to %appdata%\Balatro\1 and deleting the save.jkr and settings.jkr file, though this problem seems to be different"

I am not sure if it is the same issue as the second post because a restart does not fix my issue.

The third post does not sound exactly like my issue because I don't get this far "It shows a blue loading bar that fills then instantly closes it's self" I see nothing change other than steam briefly saying it is running.

Mine does sound similar to the 4th post. In the screenshot they provided it says 'stop' implying the game is running. Theirs could very well could be doing the same but I'd like to clarify that after doing nothing steam will change back to saying 'play' implying the game crashed. Not sure if the person in the fourth post gets stuck there or if it is the same as mine if that makes sense.

Not sure if this is worth adding but I have no other issues in any other games

hah, no worries, appreciate you trying to find similar bug reports yourself, that's a lot more than some people do

I had some friends that worked at an electronic store and they let me know they got a returned 4090 that was not out of the box. They marked it as damaged as they could in their system for me and it rang up as $600 😎

Yes for Amd. I used the GeForce experience software for my graphics card.

I can try to use the Nvidia driver directly from the website when I get off work if you think that makes a difference

I'm not sure what else to do either, maybe someone else here has an idea?

I fixed my issue. I am not exactly sure what fixed it in the end because I threw everything at the wall trying to fix it. But if people have similar issues here are some of the things I did between my last unsuccessful launch and now. Ran Dism and SFC, uninstalled every software I don't use anymore, went to my installed programs in control panel and removed some non essential windows programs, I repaired every install of Microsoft visual C++ and other related Microsoft stuff, and reinstalled steam. Hopefully this will help someone.

Glad to hear!
Did DISM/SFC give a "fix" prompt? If they didn't I'm inclined to think it's one of microsoft visual c++/steam reinstall that fixed it
