#this should be a flush, right?

It picks the hand that is higher base value
...ah
or like lvl 1 base value, so 4oak > flush
yeah thats why I said lvl 1 base value
🤷🏻♂️
yeah, higher tier hands take priority- if you play a full house, you wont score a high card, pair, 2pair, or 3oak
not really - it
- adheres to the normal rules of poker
- would get insanely complicated for the game to decide which hand to pick
just choose the one with the higher scaled base value from levelling?????
not THAT hard
well there are still problems
like 4oak is playing 4 cards when flush plays 5, imagine if you had glass on each card that means you get 1 2x less, granted slightly higher base value
yeah but thats not whats being accounted for
the base levelling
i assume the design choice was made to be in line with actual poker, which i understand. I just end up being extra careful with the hands i play to make sure i dont accidentally swap into a higher tier hand and lose my planet levels. i consider it an extra layer of complexity while building my deck around my hands
exactly
nothing is being "accounted for" - it just picks the higher tier hand, regardless of how it'll score
which makes a lot more sense than the game deciding it'll count it as a flush today, but as a 4oak tomorrow
if you try accounting for that it gets really weird in edge cases as well
for instance what if one hand has more chips and the other has more mult
it’s simpler and makes sense to just use the higher hand
i agree with thunk here, it's just so so so clunky and dodging it is part of the fun :p
gotta be careful with your deck manip, spamming the world on straights is all fun and games until you get a straight flush and die
This is why we need a Flush Four
flush one thunk plz
ok about that boss argument:
this was a normal blind
you can tell by the green background
the boss argument is only a more specific example of how this is supposed to be a hurdle
bosses can force the wrong hand to be played leading to your death
also if we're talking about that situation specifically you could've discarded, of course you played it to prove a point but it shows how referencing this specific example is moot
If anything dev should put a button to pick what hand if there’s a conflict
Check the screenshot I posted where the dev specifically mentions he doesn't like that idea
jank
the solution, yes, but sooo much bloat for such a minor problem
in such a sleekly designed game
