it's happened on 3 different occasions with different hands and jokers, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Mac has had some issues with achievements I believe. Could you be getting one of the achievements?

could be, i posted it on steam discussions and another guy said the same thing, that i might be getting the achievement for defeating the boss.

and that his fix was turning off achievements all together but that being a sloppy fix

the 2 most likely achievements you would be getting are:

Ante Up! - Reach Ante 4 (but you said it was the second boss)

10K - Score 10,000 Chips in a single hand

it's probably the ante, because looking at my continue file it says ante 3
