A simple mod with powerful effects
The mechanics are basically entirely planned out, the rest of the mod is indev as Lua is a language of all time

-- Trials --

Every Small Blind and Big Blind also has an optional "trial" based on Boss Blinds.

  • Hook's Trial: Discard at most 2 cards at a time
  • Ox's Trial: Forfeit this round's Interest
  • Wall's Trial: Overscore in a single hand
  • Arm's Trial: Play only Lv 1 hands
  • Club's Trial: Don't score any Club cards
  • Psychic's Trial: All hands must score 5 cards
  • Goad's Trial: Don't score any Spade cards
  • Water's Trial: Discard at most 1 time
  • Window's Trial: Don't score any Diamond cards
  • Eye's Trial: Score at least 3 different hand types
  • Mouth's Trial: Score the same hand at least 3 times
  • Plant's Trial: Don't score any Face cards
  • Serpent's Trial: Score at most 3 cards each hand
  • Pillar's Trial: Don't score cards with same rank scored this Blind
  • Head's Trial: Don't score any Heart cards
  • Tooth's Trial: Forfeit this round's base Reward

Completing a Blind while obeying its "trial" awards a Rune Shard.

-- Runic Packs --

The Shop stocks an additional Runic Pack if you have enough Rune Shards to buy one. Runic Packs follow the same sizes as Buffoon/Ethereal Packs.
The size is determined by the number of Rune Shards you have. Runic Packs don't cost money, only Rune Shards.
10-11: Standard
12-14: Jumbo
15+: Mega

-- Runes --

Runes are an extremely powerful upgrade to specific hands. Redeeming one grants its hand its Runic effect for the rest of the run.

  • Isaz: Spawn two Negative copies of Pluto. High Card's Chips and Mult is added to every other hand.

  • Jera: If your scoring hand is a Pair, spawn a Double Tag. [must have 1 or less]

  • Ehwaz: If your scoring hand is a Two Pair, retrigger all scored cards.

  • Raido: If your scoring hand is a Three of a Kind, draw three more cards.

  • Naudiz: If your scoring hand is a Straight, scored cards also add their rank to Mult.

  • Ansuz: If your scoring hand is a Flush, change every card in hand to be the same suit.

  • Mannaz: if your scoring hand is a Full House, create a copy of a random card in the Pair and draw it.

  • Gebo: If your scoring hand is a Four of a Kind, fill your consumable slots. [affected by effects that change shop consumable chance]

  • Algiz: If your scoring hand is a Straight Flush, disable the Boss Blind's effect.

  • Fehu: If your scoring hand is a Five of a Kind, gain $ equal to the rank of scored cards.

  • Laguz: If your scoring hand is a Five Flush, copy all scored cards and draw them.

  • Dagaz: If your scoring hand is a Flush House, spawn a Negative Tag. [must have none]

  • Othala: Spectral card. If your scoring hand was played 0 times this run, X5 Mult.

I assume since it’s phrased as “If your scoring hand is a ___” then that means hands wouldn’t activate runes for hands they contain? (e.g. Full House would only trigger Mannaz, and not Jera, Ehwaz, or Raido?)

If need be, I'd be willing to help test the mod, since I'm rather intrigued on the idea of permanent hand buffs if you follow the Boss Blind's instructions early. Also, is it possible to get multiple of the same rune, or are they a 'once-per-run' deal?

If anything, it'd actually work really well with the Glitterbomb joker from (I think) Mika's Mod, which gives all cards in your hand a random enhancement (or, as I call them, Type) when sold
