yeah, just got the loc_vars code generation code working
so i'll be releasing a first build soon
but since this is taking off, i figured i'd give it its own forum post
here is the first version of the mod; there are five fused jokers so far.
it has its own util file, which is a custom fork of LushUtil. the formatting is slightly different, but it allows the code inside your mod file to look cleaner and easier to understand by automatically assigning default values to the more unintuitive or filler variables that the game requires of custom jokers. feel free to copy the code snippet that automatically generates loc_vars, too!
if you have ideas for other jokers that could be fused, i'm all ears! (though i will say, my next targets are the "contains a hand type" jokers.)
Don't worry about running out of material for this idea because the number of Joker combinations is
2^150 - 151
accounting for "only 1 Joker" and "no Jokers" (yes, I did the math)!
true, but i'm mainly focusing on pairs with similar triggers
all these fusions are jokers that trigger from similar effects.

Anyways, I had a couple of ideas for this mod:
Blueprint/Brainstorm + Invisible Joker
The Order + The Tribe (for Straight Flushes)
and this two ?
That would be an interesting combination.

because that's how the cards work now

My idea: gain xMultiplier equal to the number of times the hand type has been played (play a Flush 5 times, gain x5 Mult).
is the idea of the mod just to ask for fused jokers or give them new effects?

the idea is to take jokers with effects that may not be good enough on their own
and make jokers that combine their effects into a single slot
because like, negative is hella unreliable

heyo, as i was watching youtube i thought of even steven and odd todd, which could combine into "parity paul" (bcuz in mathematics the parity of an integer is whether if its even or if its odd)
another combo could be steel joker and stone joker, combining into an "ore joker" (like iron ore)
dusk and acrobat btoh activate on final hand, could do something with that
these four could of course be combined
same with these
funnily enough, four of the first five jokers were combinations of the common suit jokers and their uncommon counterparts
and then there's scary + smiley to make creepy face
i had noticed that lol
though stuff like sly & wily (the pair ones) could also be combined in some way
they have the same color palettes too which is good for the artistic side of this, which would be what the cards look like
i feel like half joker and joker stencil could be cool to combine, because they both work off less cards (in some way)

or Curtain Call: "Your final hand played retriggers all scoring cards and gains x3 Mult."
dusk is the end of a day, and curtain call is the end of a performance

yes, it's the latter
the cards will automatically fuse if you attempt to buy a component joker while owning the other (even if you have full slots)
i'm encountering the fused jokers in the shops is that intended

i've seen screenshots of feder working on a fusion rarity with ideas similar to this. bloodstone got buffed to be a 1 in 2 chance so Bloody Joker will need to be changed accordingly
I guess changes will be done when 1.1.0 will be out

i've got my own personal balance mod i'm working on anyway, and i mainly made this one to learn modding and make something that didn't already exist

thing I'll note
there is a bug I discovered however
A. it's only visual
and
B. it's a compatability thing
so I'm not even sure if it's important enough to fix lol
I think there should be a fusion of drunkard and juggler
also, the bug btw was that with cryptid, there's a couple effects which can modify the numbers of jokers, fused jokers will have the numbers changed effectwise, but their description stayed the same

any idea on how I could add my own modded jokers to the fusions mod? i just want 2 of my jokers to be able to fuse together and make another one of my modded jokers.
this is an unrelated mod from the fusions mod that ended up existing to this day
would it still work tho? I'm making a Steven Universe themed mod and have been trying for a while to add fusions into it.
I mean.... the one I linked does the same thing, provides an api for exactly what you want, and does still work
how do I find that API? i already have working code for the jokers I want to fuse and their resulting joker and I'm looking for a way to implement it so that the two ingredients jokers are replaced with their fusion after clicking the fuse prompt
