I bought Loyalty Card just before the Ante 7 boss and played three hands there, then I double-skipped to the Ante 8 boss. After playing my first hand against CH, the Loyalty Card got disabled for the second hand. On my third hand, the Loyalty Card was no longer disabled and indicated "1 remaining", but upon playing that hand, which would have been my sixth hand since buying the Loyalty Card, I found that the x4 effect triggered, which I did not expect due to the "1 remaining" text.
I might be misremembering how LC works; I thought that "n remaining" meant that n more hands needed to be played before being able to play a boosted hand.
I posted this in the #🕹・game-discussion channel and was told that this could be either a display issue or a functional issue.
#Possible issue with Loyalty Card interacting with Crimson Heart

This do be a bug, loyalty card goes down 1 no matter what, even if the hand doesnt count (ex. the psychic boss)
The situation here feels different from the Psychic to me because it's not the hand that gets "disabled", but rather the Joker. If the Loyalty Card counter were to increment (mod 6) regardless of whether it is disabled, then it would seem more consistent to me to count hands played even when LC isn't on the board, which is not the present behavior.
I don't feel very strongly about what the observed behavior ought to be, but it would be nice if to get some clarification from the dev about what he thinks.
Just had the same thing happen to me and came here to report the bug. Mine might have been worse because I missed an opportunity to put loyalty card on the left to get a nice x16 mult with my brainstorm. This display error could be run-ending!
I’m not sure this is specifically a bug but rather an unfortunate consequence of how Crimson Heart interacts with jokers?
It's a bug:
- visually, the counter stays unchanged
- internally, the counter decreases by one
The visual counter will fix itself and match the internal counter again once a hand is played iirc
ah, interesting.
