Yeah your util work, but if we add Green and Silver seal or any other seal it may crash...that's why mwitington change his util.lua in order to make possible to have more modded seal

Your Util.lua + Black, Silver and Green seal = Crash at launch of the game
mwitington Util.lua + Black, Silver and Green seal = Crash on use of the black one

Thanks to GreenSeal latest release I need to implement something that shouldn't be in my code for this mod to work.

Had something weird happen on the final hand of Ante 8 boss (Gold Stake, Ghost Deck, 1 discard remaining, boss ability: deactivate 1 random joker per hand). I drew a stone card with black seal (my only black seal card), and as soon as I selected it the black seal disappeared. I deselected it and reselected it a few times but it never came back. I played the card by itself and it didn't apply negative to any jokers. After the round, my deck doesn't have a stone card with the black seal anymore. I'm running Achievements Enabler, Black Seal, Divvy's Preview, Divvy's Simulation, Choose First Shop Joker and AxUtil. I DL'ed all the mods today and this was my first run with the black seal mod.
Here's screenshots after the round in case it helps
I have 7 joker slots, the Antimatter voucher and no negative jokers so I think it might've still given me the extra joker slot without applying negative to any jokers. Unless I'm forgetting another way I got another joker slot.
I continued in endless mode and got another black seal. Drew it a few rounds later. Same thing happened as before: I selected it, black seal disappeared but this time I noticed the number of joker slots also increased by 1 at the same time. Still no negative jokers
have you tried without the score preview mod? it likely isn't compatible with mods like this one
Quick heads up, support for seals is coming to Steamodded in the next release. I'd love to hear from you if there's anything that we've missed or that you want to see added to the seals API in order for you mod to use it while being compatible with other seal mods. The code is up on the Steamodded github page already and will be deployed as a new release soon.
I did a run without the Preview and Simulation mods and the black seal works as expected now
Apparently the way the preview mod works that it plays the hand and calculate the score to display it. This mod, and many others aren't designed for this thus the effect applies as it is selected since it is "being played".
That mod also bugged out any cards that affect card upon play like dna, as it adds a "phantom" card into your decck when selected (goes away after re-enter game)
Yeah it's a problem with the mod that calculates in real time your score
this issue is known

Preview and Simulation mods are incredible. Could black seals work if you change from "play" to "discard"? Is there an easy way to change it?

everytime I play a card with a black seal it crashes my game
Black Seal doesn't use "x_mult" in his code...
Visual Studio, Open folder "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Balatro\Mods" and then Ctrl+Shift+F and search for "x_mult" and then search which one use x_mult line 88
Then am I using an improper version of the mod? If so I'll try re-downloading in the morning
@normal hatch there's an incompatibility due to Green Seal with the x_mult. (Because Green Seal didn't do this properly)
But I updated the mod so that it works now

It seems I was already running the version that had the x_mult compatability
I'm still getting the x_mult crash from green seal when I play black seal...
I think I am just going to remove green seal from my modlist for now
