#Seems cloud saves are still bugged

I installed the game on my second pc just now; It downloaded the cloud save, then I launched it. At the game menu, it gave me unlock notifications of stuff I had already unlocked on my first pc, but I noticed there was only a few unlocks. Then I tried starting a game and saw that much of what I had already unlocked was still locked on the second pc, example with a locked deck even though the game "knows" I beat the white stake with it.

The collection is also wholly incomplete compared to my first pc (on which, for example, I have discovered all booster packs).

One thing to note is that I did play the demo on this second computer, maybe the game prioritized the demo save's data over the cloud save?

36h here; I'll try to start my first pc in offline mode so my good save doesn't get overwritten by the bad cloud save

Good idea, hope you fix it

Thankfully, most of my 36h of game were challenges, and those are still counted as done in the borked save; redoing the white and red stakes won't be too awful, if worse comes to worst

I'm having a similar issue here. I play on 3 different devices, two PC's and steam deck.
Cloud saves work for deck progress just fine. But it doesn't seem to transfer my joker unlocks and new items to collection.
Many jokers are still locked on steam deck but are unlocked on one of my PC's. The joker that is locked still shows that I've used it to beat black stake though.

Starting the first pc offline and launching a game of balatro worked to "restore" the cloud save: it created a conflict between the newer local save of the first pc and the corrupted cloud save, and when I went back online and started the game again on the first pc, it asked me to choose which savefile I wanted to keep

#

It's a band-aid, though, ideally the save should not get corupted in the first place

but good to know there's a potential fix.
I've been running the 2nd file not to mess with anything on the main I used. I assume it'll be good if I leave it til I'm back

Update: I manually deleted the local corrupted save on the second pc, and after it redid the steam cloud sync, I had the correct cloud save from my first pc with no issue.

So it tends to show the problem is with the merging of the cloud save with the local demo save when starting the game for the first time on a second pc on which the demo was played

In the %appdata%/balatro folder

#

you just deleted 1?

#

i did that then launched and nothing changed for me

#

launching the game just reinstates it in the same broken form unfortunately

#

I deleted the whole content of the folder, "1", "2", "settings.jkr", and "steam_autocloud.vdf"

#

basically wiping entirely the local save

#

And then it downloaded the one from the steam cloud when I launched it

#

didn't fix mine unfortunately, but glad it solved yours!

Remember you have to first reupload the correct save on the cloud; the most important part of the fix was to launch my first pc (who still had the good save locally) offline (no internet) so it didn't overwrite the local save with the cloud save, launch a game while offline so the local save will have a version conflict with the cloud one, then go back online and let the steam cloud sync ask you which save you want to keep, and select the local save.

If your let your first pc boot online and the steam cloud sync overwrites your good local save with the corrupted one, then it's all over
