i have the entire collection discovered (and only missing 1 card for completionist++, i did not see it this run).
in fact it's felt weird for a while, i have runs where i get no new gold stickers get New Discoveries 1 while runs that get gold stickers get New Discoveries 0. probably a specific card/cards are bugged?

Had that happen to me as well while grinding for the last stickers. Some of my runs would have 1 or more discoveries for some reason, even though I didn't get any new sticker during the run

Same here. I ve 100% collection and keep getting 1/2 new discoveries each win

Same here. 100% collection and only 1 Joker missing Gold Sticker, and I get New Discoveries all the time. Usually between 1-3 "New Discoveries"

I think we figured what it is. Credit to @shrewd oak for this.
Basically each joker with a edition that you pick up and it’s the first time you pick it up, will count as new discovery.
For example today I had a run with holo tribouket and had 1 new discovery at the end.
The profile is one joker sticker away from c++ and collection is complete
