If you use the tarot card Death to copy a force-selected card during this Boss, the copy will also be force-selected (demonstrated in attached image and gif 1). I don't think that's how it should work, as the boss clearly states it forces 1 card to be selected. However, the force-selected cards do not increase from 1 to 2 for the rest of the fight (demonstrated in gif 2). Good! I lost the run, so I'm not sure if that copy will retain the force-selected state even after Cerulean bell. Not good!

just replying to say that I encountered this situation as well in my game after using death card to copy the card that was forced selected (cant deselect either A balatroclub ) others in similar threads are saying this behavior is present with cryptid card as well. after continuing into endless mode, I am fairly certain the copied A does not retain the force selected behavior after the Cerulean Bell fight is over

just realized that it wouldn't work, after you make the first copy you wouldn't be able to make any more because death requires exactly two cards to be selected and cryptid requires exactly one

so once you have two force-selected cards you cant use death or cryptid to make any more
