A deck that literally just has its ability be a very niche Joker (but it can stack with that Joker, too!)
Stats are as follows:

  • Doubles all listed probabilities (ex: 1 in 3 -> 2 in 3)
  • Begin with 1 copy of The Magician

Yeah, this is just Oops! All 6s but as a deck. Genuinely, I really like the idea of Oops!, but I think the fact that it can harm you (glass cards break easier, Wheel puts more cards face-down, etc.), and it's just a slight increase in odds makes it too niche to ever be worth taking on most decks--especially since you have to just find it in a run, much like any other Joker, so even if you do have a run which would want it, you might not get it.

So, I made it into a deck! I don't think there are many passive Jokers I would want to have deck forms, but this is one where it felt justifiable and fun.

i haven't had any visuals problems with this deck outside of when i had other mods on which affected Enhancers, since (to my knowledge, at least) if you have multiple mods affecting the same image file, one of them will be given higher priority

saw your post in #⚙・modding-general , decided to quickly look at Dice Deck's code to see if i wrote something wrong--but everything looks good

i think it might be either how you installed stuff, or you have a different conflicting mod on rn

for me the pact deck was interferring with it since the pact deck also had the enhancers pngs

played a couple of rounds with the deck, its quite cool

the wheel of fortune turns from a low priority tarot card to one of the best

at the end of each of my runs I have basically all my jokers enhanced

a +10 mult joker at the beginning of the run carries you for long, so you can go for more scaling

wheel of fortune is the most consistent power up that the deck has, but on average I wouldnt rank it very high

#

lots of fun though, had a run with "oops all 6s" and had a 4/4 chance on wheel and 4/5 chance on all my lucky cards

really glad to hear it!!!! yeah oops! with it giving quadruple odds is quite fun--i've found this deck is particularly good at running Hearts flushes, due to the fact bloodstone is innately 2/3, and then oops makes it guaranteed

which, y'know, a lot of people probably won't, but i don't like the idea of it

frankly, i think 1 magician after each boss blind still sounds fine lmao. like, power-wise i think this deck is already Alright--definitely on the weaker side, but i think it has good synergies. having 7 (or more in endless/hieroglyph) guaranteed magicians, when lucky cards are already a lot better, sounds really good

that part of the code's the easy part--i already have Pact Deck made, which does an "after boss blind" mechanic
the tricky part is making it spawn a specific tarot. spawning a tarot (any kind) i know how to do, but trying to figure out how i'd word it to do magician is the struggle

if you look at the initial screenshot you posted, you have 0/2 consumable slots despite that Fool being there--so it doesn't appear to be that i put in the code wrong or anything lol

so i do think this is an improved version of the deck, as it allows you to construct Mecha-Magiciatron for one of your Jokers, creating the strongest force in Balatro

however unfortunately boss blinds do not recognize it as a real weapon

another thing: i did a full run there, got to ante 10, bought arcana every shop (had both clearance vouchers), had a vagabond

Magicians never actually showed up a single time, outside of the broken ones spawned by it

makes me wonder if the code here somehow like... breaks magicians themselves? so it IS spawning a "real" magician, but some other part of it makes it so Magicians don't work at all

Ok, I think I got it now 😅
I tested it and it is usable.

These are the lines I missed:

i'm gonna run a few more test games, because it's hard to tell if this was just because this was really fortunate luck (i did get lucky cat decently early on), or if i should actually worry that now the deck is too good from the free magicians lol

again, could just be coincidence--but getting free magicians, while packs just can't have them, isn't a terrible balancing factor

Borrowed isn't using unused content (it's just using the Lucky card image), and Dynamic is using one of the other backs in Enhancers.png

Dice Deck has been updated! I ran through a lot of different options, and what felt best ended up being this: getting to pick one specific card to start as Lucky felt nice for getting the mechanic online, while having too many free Magicians was just a bit too much.

to go into a little more detail: getting a magician after each boss blind made the runs kinda feel too same-y since luckys are way better for this deck

but starting with just 1 felt fine

originally i wanted to avoid that since it's like "you could just keep resetting"

however since Erratic exists it's like. the game already officially has that?

kuso does also have enhancers.png yes, if the mod loads in the right order (random afaik) then both deck mods can work

if you're gonna go into the files and stuff then you can rewrite the deckback part by following the steamodded wiki example

i would go ask kusoro for permission to send the thing with the deckback part updated but tbh i'm tired so maybe tomorrow. kusoro also seemed opened to updating for stuff like that so idk if kuso would mind doing such a simple fix

To be more specific. At the start, you get all the jokers You can see above. They are all negatives, so it won't take any space in your run.
