Hey!

TL;DR: Played a bunch on PC, launched at laptop and saw there's no save, launched on PC again and there's no save either.

I've been enjoying Balatro mostly on my PC since the relase day. Today I downloaded it on my laptop and launched the game. I figured the Steam Cloud would handle things, but to my disappointment it wasn't the case. I remember seeing unlocks for a few things, but my decks weren't there and the collection got rest. I didn't start a new run and just closed the game. Tonight I got back to my PC and launched the game, only to notice my unlocks got wiped here too.

As you can see in the screenshot, the game still knows which stake difficulty I reached, but the collection and the decks got reset. Seems like a weird issue between a local save and the Steam Cloud save.

I'm having the same issue right now! All of my joker unlockprocess got wiped too 😦

I also hit this yesterday. I downloaded the game on my PC at work, where I had previous played one of the demos. Upon launching the game on this new computer, it started giving me unlock pop ups for things I had already unlocked, like Blue Deck. My profile still says I have 8 wins. And I'm seeing the same issues the two of you are, where I have decks or jokers that are locked or undiscovered, despite still having stake stickers on them.

When I launched the game again at home, it had already updated my Cloud Save to be this "corrupted" version. Luckily, I have a third PC that I've played on somewhat recently, so I'm going to try to recover the save from there by unplugging it from the internet before I wake it up

Very Strange.I met the opposite issue, the game still knows the collection and the decks .But stake difficulty I reached got reset.Now I have the last deck(random deck) unlocked, but have no records reached the orange and golden chips.

I've tried to delete my local files in APPDATA/ROAMING/BALATRO and downloaded the newest files from my STEAM CLOUD(It shown I've uploaded them from another PC),but got the same issue.

Yeah and unfortunately steam cloud save doesn’t have a version history

Hey got the same issue, it has my first demo data saved but things like my unlocked decks are gone(the new ones) and my collection data is gone too, other than what I got form my first demo

I have stakes for things like Red deck but I can't use the decks which need me to win with red deck(hands are back after playing a game)

Not to comment twice but just want to join in, yeah, this sucks! Did the same thing as moptastic.

Just happened to me as well - Jimbo was trying to explain the rules to me. Not sure what to do at this point.

localthunk should disable cloud saves until this is fixed

I feel like if this were a widespread issue, we'd be hearing more about it?
I'm just confused what to do at this point.

I'm just realizing my computer's storage is near-zero... whoops. I may need to just fix that bit.

I guess that was it. Now have I screwed myself? Does restoring my system to a prior point possibly get the file back?

It doesn’t magically restore after a restart.
