In the current patch of 0.1.0, the Quantity modifier naturally increases rewards as more enemies = more ichor + more rolls for loot. Toughness, on the other hand, doesn't have any bonuses yet. This thread is to brainstorm ideas for said modifier.

  • Increase loot quality. Tougher enemies give better drops, but not more drops, as that would compound with Quantity.
  • Decrease satiety drain. Satiety decreases while in combat, higher Toughness leads to longer encounters. This can be offset by scaling satiety drain inversely with Toughness.
  • Better quality chests. Respawning chests are of basic quality. Higher Toughness could give them scaling chance to be higher tier chests.

Higher tier gear fills Satiety more than lower tier, therefore increasing loot quality would perform a similar function to decreasing satiety drain. hexthink

"Respawning chests are of basic quality. Higher Toughness could give them scaling chance to be higher tier chests." <-- while not wrong, that's also not entirely true. there are chests that respawn that are not white :)

Enemy damage doesn't appear to scale with Toughness. Not damage to the player, damage to each other. As-is, teamkilling becomes a rarer occurance the higher Toughness goes. There's still value in blocking attacks with other bodies, but decreasingly so.

Should enemy damage scale 1:1 with HP? idk. Depends how rampant/easy teamkilling is.
