Hey <@&1335341672619442186> folks -- if you're on Arcade and have noticed that flowers look a little more plastic-y, we'd absolutely love if someone happens to have some side-by-side images of pre and post update. We know that the look of flowers are important and are trying to address what happened.

Immmm no help cause I only tend to the extremiphiles or whatever they’re called buttttt I’m 100% sure the eggworts didn’t have the weird stuff on top before update 🤷🏽‍♀️

I don’t have before and after pics, but I can confirm that the issue occurs even at the sprout stage. If you ask me, at least for the sprouts, it seems like the issue is the light reflecting on the plant.

Ugh I don’t have a good photo either but it definitely it plastic-y not sure if it’s the new lighting and how it hits. Tends to show more on solids

Thankfully I have approximately one gazillion pre-update pics because I like to snag screenshots that I (ultimately forget to) share with the Discord chat. Some of the most noticeable differences I’ve seen so far are in the poinsettias, heavy nettles, and hibiscuses. I couldn’t dig through enough to find direct comparisons right now, but I may be able to post more tomorrow once I get more blooms.
(Also, please ignore the marks on the orange poinsettia in the top pic and the smudge on the speckled eggwort in the second one, I had the highlighter tool on without realizing it)

Here’s a photo of mine. I had to look in the flowers channel for another users photo for the 2nd comparison photo of the hibi

#

It also shows on pens too but harder to photograph

I can definitely see a difference especially in the leaves and the penstumums and poinsettias.

Left picture was just taken
Right is before the update

Hope this helps.

Not sure if these pictures show it well but on the left photo from May 9th, I’m wearing a flower crown. On the photo taken today, I’m wearing a side bow and the edges of the flowers seem more distinct and where the light reflects off the yellow center of penstemums, it gives that plasticky impression. Maybe it’s just me but even the iridescent poinsettia in the back seems to reflect more light

On the flowers in this room, I actually think the enhanced appearance makes them look good. There is a difference that will take getting used to. Not sure I love what happened to the happadils in pictures I’ve seen though

I LOVE the new look of the flowers. I thought it was an intentional improvement and I was about to post a kudos post about it. 😂

#

I especially love it in the pestemums

Please don’t take it away, I like it!!! 🥹🙏

I know!! It makes everything easier on the eyes and to me it doesn’t look plasticky but with a nice sateen sheen.

not sure if it's known, but it looks like the plastic flowers are now on steam too as of the recent update hibiscus wishmemell

OH NO

#

I hope they have enough evidence to address what happened and how to source the original (or prevent it at all for Switch)

#

It looks like an artificial purchasable item and not like our tenderly grown flowers

Definitely way more noticeable at night. I don’t have a before photo to share but they were never this shiny at night before with the moon shine

I think you can see on the right that lighting / highlight is more harsh. I don't mind the update, however, I thought it was intended

Hoping for the fix very soon, still wasn’t fixed with CU2 for Switch either :(
