#Plastic-y Flowers on Arcade
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Immmm no help cause I only tend to the extremiphiles or whatever they’re called buttttt I’m 100% sure the eggworts didn’t have the weird stuff on top before update 🤷🏽♀️
Does this help?
1 pic before
2 pic after
I dont have a picture but i noticed those circles on eggworts before the update especially on the pink variety
My glow hibiscus patch before & after (Looking for more examples rn too)
before and after update
happidils also look different now
there’s a colored streak in the core of the flower for double confetti & the pattern is slightly enlarged
Trying to replicate the same photo for comparison lol
⬅️ before - after➡️
I don’t have before and after pics, but I can confirm that the issue occurs even at the sprout stage. If you ask me, at least for the sprouts, it seems like the issue is the light reflecting on the plant.
Ugh I don’t have a good photo either but it definitely it plastic-y not sure if it’s the new lighting and how it hits. Tends to show more on solids
THESE LOOK SO COOL WHAT
Thankfully I have approximately one gazillion pre-update pics because I like to snag screenshots that I (ultimately forget to) share with the Discord chat. Some of the most noticeable differences I’ve seen so far are in the poinsettias, heavy nettles, and hibiscuses. I couldn’t dig through enough to find direct comparisons right now, but I may be able to post more tomorrow once I get more blooms.
(Also, please ignore the marks on the orange poinsettia in the top pic and the smudge on the speckled eggwort in the second one, I had the highlighter tool on without realizing it)
Here’s a photo of mine. I had to look in the flowers channel for another users photo for the 2nd comparison photo of the hibi
It also shows on pens too but harder to photograph
……. It just dawned on me that anyone can check the sprout thing just by planting something. 🤦♀️ So my post was probably useless to you guys, sorry!
I can definitely see a difference especially in the leaves and the penstumums and poinsettias.
Left picture was just taken
Right is before the update
Hope this helps.
I also noticed on my roses these sparkles I don't know if that's meant to look like dew drops or something but that is new -
I agree with your observation about the problem being when there is light hitting the plants. It seems the sheen is more pronounced. I noticed it more with the sprouts too and I thought the iridescent bellbuttons from a previous post here.
Not sure if these pictures show it well but on the left photo from May 9th, I’m wearing a flower crown. On the photo taken today, I’m wearing a side bow and the edges of the flowers seem more distinct and where the light reflects off the yellow center of penstemums, it gives that plasticky impression. Maybe it’s just me but even the iridescent poinsettia in the back seems to reflect more light
On the flowers in this room, I actually think the enhanced appearance makes them look good. There is a difference that will take getting used to. Not sure I love what happened to the happadils in pictures I’ve seen though
Oh no !! I hope this doesn’t happen on switch 😭😭
I kind of like the way they look. They’re shinier!!
Exactly!
Before / After
first two are before and last is after
I LOVE the new look of the flowers. I thought it was an intentional improvement and I was about to post a kudos post about it. 😂
I especially love it in the pestemums
Me too! I thought it was on purpose 😭😭😭
Please don’t take it away, I like it!!! 🥹🙏
I know!! It makes everything easier on the eyes and to me it doesn’t look plasticky but with a nice sateen sheen.
not sure if it's known, but it looks like the plastic flowers are now on steam too as of the recent update

Nooooo 😭 my worst fear for switch update next
OH NO
I hope they have enough evidence to address what happened and how to source the original (or prevent it at all for Switch)
It looks like an artificial purchasable item and not like our tenderly grown flowers
Definitely way more noticeable at night. I don’t have a before photo to share but they were never this shiny at night before with the moon shine
THE EGGWORTS LOOK SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER AGAIN 🙌🏾🙌🏾
I think you can see on the right that lighting / highlight is more harsh. I don't mind the update, however, I thought it was intended
Yeah, I don’t like the “fix”. Flowers look less defined now.
Alot of the flowers look ombre no when theyre not too
Yeah. To me this was very disappointing
Hoping for the fix very soon, still wasn’t fixed with CU2 for Switch either :(
