After completing T14, the real goal at the moment is creating the most efficient system. Although early days still I feel other warehouses may add an extra layer of challenge to any parcel-goer
Concept 1):
- On starting a new save you can select different sizes of warehouses or maps. They would be a different layout in terms of floor plan and the delivery doors would also be different.
Pro's:
- Better longevity of the game.
- Further automation challenges for the map
- Dynamic
Con's:
- May lose the character of the game currently with 'the' warehouse
- A lot of work for just another map, not a ground breaking feature
Concept 2)
-
On selecting a new save the player can then purchase additional warehouses from within that save. Multiple locations.
-
Could help feed into the idea of creating a parcel company with an overarching story idea
Pro's:
-
Lengthens the duration of a save as there's more things to do over your company
-
Avenue to add many features to facilitate building a company (financials, selecting delivery dates, types of cargo, global multiplayer leaderboard etc)
Con's:
- Would require a lot of effort in terms of development
- May takeaway from the novelty of owning a single warehouse. Rather than a parcel simulator it would be a parcel empire simulator
Concept 3):
-
Adding scenario maps can offer additional challenges to parcel simulator. Pre-made floor plans with a story to them or a challenge. X deliveries by day 20, only having a small budget, fixing a broken system.
-
Can even implement community based scenarios through steam workshop.
Pro's:
- Further challenges other than optimising automation
Con's:
- Steam workshop integration
Concept 4):
-
Randomly generated maps with options to choose a size (amount of tiles), amount delivery and export doors
-
The randomisation would make sure that a minimum size is kept or generic shape as to not give something that's completely impractical and unrealistic
