How do I reduce Spawn Rate for mobs (I know nothing about Minecraft)

My partner got into the game, she really loves this version of it, only thing she wants is less enemies, but to keep her hunger, bascially peaceful with a litttlee bit of enemies, I treid going to the config folder but I don't know where to go exactly, does anyone know where I need to go and what I need to change, any help is appreciated 🥲

Edit: This is for a solo world not a server, so configuring a piece of code isnt a problem, I just don't know where that code is located

you can use diamond magnum torches around your base and areas you explore. the torch has a large range to prevent mobs from spawning
