Which modpack are you using? BCG+ 2.4.0
What version of the Java runtime are you using? Open JDK 21.0.4
Have you allocated 6GB of RAM or higher? Yes

This is what I get when I run the start.sh file. I'm quite noob when it comes to Linux + running Minecraft servers, got a home server a few weeks ago so messing around with stuff atm.

whats the question? Sorry, I am not seeing anything wrong in the log

#

are you not able to connect?

edgy basin
#

I wasn't able to the other day. Let me try again

#

Yea, I'm unable to connect

echo palm
#

do you see in the log if it registered a log on attempt?

edgy basin
#

It didn't

echo palm
#

At least form the original log you sent it doesnt show me anything out of the ordinary. Thoughts going through my mind are, are you able to ping the server from your gaming machine? (irrelevent if you are using ssh since that would mean you are already talking to the machine.) Is there a firewall that could be blocking from the server? I would have to look into how to check that as my linux is rusty.

edgy basin
#

Oh perhaps it could be the firewall

#

Let me google and see if I can mess with the firewall

#

Ah

#

One simple command fixed everything

#

sudo ufw allow 25565

echo palm
#

ah

#

ok

#

glad it worked out!

edgy basin
#

Well

echo palm
#

Hey, the simple problems are the best

edgy basin
#

It shows up in the server list now but I still can't connect

#

Doesn't show me trying to connect in the log either

#

Oh

#

Nvm

echo palm
#

you might have to open up udp and tcp but I am not sure

#

ok

edgy basin
#

I don't need to portforward if I'm on the network

#

Side question -

echo palm
#

shoot

edgy basin
#

If me and my friends have been using e4mc as the server for a bit now can I just move the world file over and it'll just work or does that not work that way

echo palm
#

you would have to rename your single player world folder or edit your server.properties to reflect the world name but it should work. You will probably lose your map data though

#

I know pleanty have done it but I personaly havent

edgy basin
#

Okay I'll try to do that

echo palm
#

Sounds good. If you need anything else feel free to reach out.

edgy basin
#

hmm I got the server up but can't connect now

#

oop jk

echo palm
#

hmmm, sorry, I though you were able to.....

#

...

edgy basin
#

it timed out twice and let me in 3rd time

echo palm
#

Your server is having a day

edgy basin
#

SORRY

#

AHAHAH

#

im slow

echo palm
#

Nah, Im not upset or anything.

#

stuff like this happens

edgy basin
#

kudos to you guys tho like usually its impossible to get help for stuff like this

#

and for someone so new to linux and running servers if anything goes wrong outside of a youtube tutorial i have no idea how to trouble shoot it

echo palm
#

Linux is a learning curve for sure. and with so many distros it gets even more interesting

edgy basin
#

Weird observation. I've reopened Minecraft a few times.

#

Each time I open I have add the portforward if it wasn't there last time I connected or remove it if it was there
