I thought it was great when it started. I even was at the top for a while 🙂 But it really needs larger board sizes to remain interesting. At the moment all of the top agents are perfect and the leaderboard is really random at the top. It would also be great if a 'match' could be a combination of 2 games where each agent goes first ones. The perfect agent are guaranteed to win when going first.
The move down to only 12 agents didn't help, but there again it was accompanied by a lot of 'perfect agents'. Most of these have given up again now so the top of the leaderboard is quite sparse - of course that could change at any moment. But yes, I have to agree with Peter, there's a huge potential for interesting work with larger boards and paired games. I was really hopeful that this was going to happen at the start of 2023, I've given up hope now.
I have a working agent that won't submit to leader board. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
It's quite a pain to get started. If you click on one of the submissions you should get something like this
Then you need to look at Replay and Agent logs.
There aren't many here. If you post to https://www.kaggle.com/competitions/connectx/discussion/ you'll get to far more.

Hello, I am struggling with installing kaggle-environments. I use a python environment with all dependecies installed (although it shouldn't matter) however once I try to install manually from downloaded files with pip install ./kaggle-environments-0.1.4 I get ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'jsonschema' (I can paste the whole error message if it helps). I have no idea why because importing such package works for me since it is installed. I also tried to install from pip pip install kaggle-environments but this also fails to AttributeError: 'dict' object has no attribute '__NUMPY_SETUP__'. Could you please help me?
