Community Guidelines

https://www.kaggle.com/community-guidelines
Our community guidelines on Discord are the same as those on Kaggle itself. Breaking rules on Discord is equivalent to breaking them on Kaggle.com and moderation actions can and will be applied across both sites.

1️⃣ Be patient. Be friendly.
Nuance is easily lost when communicating online especially when many people are not using their first language. Instead of making assumptions, stay calm and ask clarifying questions. If you feel you can’t be patient or friendly, take a step back and respond later.

2️⃣ Discuss and respect ideas. Don’t make it personal.
We’re all here to learn and share ideas. When you have critical feedback, focus on the ideas that others are sharing, not the person.

3️⃣ Harassment and threats are unacceptable.
Low-level harassment is still harassment. Even minor or subtle put downs set a negative tone in our community that will alienate others.

4️⃣ Bigotry is not allowed.
We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to, members of any race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, color, immigration status, social and economic class, educational level, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.

5️⃣ Keep it professional.
Kaggle is a professional community of data scientists and machine learners; NSFW content does not have a home here and will be removed.

6️⃣ Don’t try to manipulate the progression system.
Progression manipulation includes any behaviors that intend to game Kaggle’s reputation system. They harm the fairness and quality of the community and are forbidden on our platform. Off-topic self promotion, upvote collusion, plagiarism, and cheating are some (but not all) examples of progression manipulation.

‼️ If you see something that you feel violates these guidelines please bring it to the moderator team's attention. We take your reports very seriously. If you have a concern that you think merits additional attention, you should report it to moderation@kaggle.com. All reports will be kept confidential.

7️⃣ No Spam
Do not spam channels, through automated or manual means. Do not post the same question across multiple channels.

8️⃣ Stay On Topic
Make sure all posts are on-topic for the topic they are in. To reduce clutter, please make sure to use #👤┊introductions for introductions, #📚┊resources for all links to external resources, #🔗┊sharing-projects for links to your kaggle notebooks, datasets, or other data science projects, and use #🎉┊celebration for all celebrating of reaching specific milestones.

Discord Messaging Guidelines

9️⃣ Stay on the Server
Keep conversations within the server. Do not direct message other members without their consent.

1️⃣0️⃣ Don't tag individuals for general questions
Do not tag individuals (including Kaggle Staff) to ask questions, instead post in a channel where anyone can help you like #1130799965288018071 or in the feedback category.

1️⃣1️⃣ No Support on Discord
All kaggle support must go through https://www.kaggle.com/contact , we can not help you with specific issues through discord.
