Hello, currently on day 4 - The content is good but the labs are a waste of time, all the code seems to be outdated, i spend to much time figuring out why it fails, the Notebooks should be updated or just simple retire this course. I’m building AgentLantern, an open-source devtool for AI agent projects.

The idea is to make agent-based projects easier to understand, document, analyze, and visualize, especially when the codebase starts to grow.

For now, AgentLantern mainly supports CrewAI and provides three core features:

  • Lantern Docs: generates browsable project documentation from the source code and configuration files, without LLM calls or API keys.
  • Lantern Lint: statically checks agent projects to detect design issues before runtime.
  • Lantern Play: runs the project and opens a pixel-art runtime viewer to observe agents working, delegating, calling tools, and producing outputs.

The project is still early, so I’m mostly looking for feedback from people working with AI agents, multi-agent systems, devtools, or open-source tooling.

what biases are you trying to find and resolve in faculties?

Here are the following what biases I am talking about:-

  1. Human being are bias no matter what, there will be a bias in correction as well, for example a certain student may right a good answer that may have few characteristics missing like diagram or example, this will make him loose marks where in question there is no mention of drawing of diagram or giving example.

  2. This builds on top of previous one, where a student may right a correct answer but marks will not allocated properly by faculty, or vise versa where a student may not write a answer well but faculty will give full marks.

The system was to protect from injustice of which done by faculty while correction, because during correction sometime such stuff happen and giving for revaluation (basically telling the university to check the paper again for any mistakes while correction cost 800 rs) is costly.

OK, I hear you. re: Bias - so is that the fault of the AI or the Engineering team who designed that AI? That's why having a team with diverse backgrounds, culturally different, have different skillsets in designing AI is crucial.

But it is not easy to (1) find such a team, (2) work with said team to be a cohesive unit towards a singular goal.

Just looking for a team for capstone is already daunting. 🤓

I suppose since I'm learning, I'm questioning all AI Tools I encounter now and wondering if they had been put through the Evals and Observability process. Since these tools are newly introduced/developed maybe 1.5-2 years ago? And still being improved.

I marvel at how folks trust the answers GPT tools gave them at face value the same as AI tools. What assurances do the users of these AI tools have that the bias is not still propagated? Wouldn't it be like digging the whole even deeper if the tools themselves have inherent biases, that has not been surfaced or even tested for? Because the team(s) who designed these AI Tools don't have any other perspectives, especially if there's no diversity in the team makeup, is what I meant.

Just like that period when our parents and grandparents keep forwarding things on the 'net. They have absolute trust that the information they are passing on is 100% trustworthy since in their era, the only source of truth for them is the print publications - newspapers and magazines. And they only read that one local newspaper send to their doorstep, no other perspective(s) needed.

They never knew about algorithms until we told them to stop forwarding things to all their group chats and email friends with what amounted to be fake news and scams.
