Old wording:
"We don’t allow the use of our models for the following:...Weapons development, Military and warfare..."

New wording:
"When using any OpenAI service... Don’t use our service to harm yourself or others - for example... develop or use weapons..."

The Pentagon has its eye on the leading AI company, which this week softened its ban on military use.

Makes me wonder if, had I been working at OpenAI at the relevant time, would I have resigned in disgust? Certainly I think impetuous and morally-certain 19-year-old me would have, but at more than twice that age now, I'm more aware of the complexities of the real world - like the fact that, contra Noam Chomsky, the West does not always use its military might in negative ways.
