I've seen it come up a few times that people make it off Stowaway's Step and have trouble finding another bank. Obviously we know it's in Port Azure, but I know my initial playthrough I also didn't leave Hidden Hills until another several hours had passed and I'd been through Bonepits and Vitheo's Watch many times.

I don't think adding a Banking NPC to the settlement in Hidden Hills would negatively impact anything and help be a sort of stepping stone for people as they make their way through the beginning of the game.

Yeah, I agree this would be helpful to new players.

I'd prefer a NPC that tells you "you can get to Azure this direction, it's a big city, the way is save if you stay on the path" or something along those lines

Also a good idea.

I want to say that an NPC tells you about Port Azure in the Hidden hills and if you follow the path East (and stick to it) the Map guy even has a [direction] prompt and tells you where the city is (which is still East).

I think a good idea instead of a bank, would be a smuggler outside Hidden Hills little hub (he could be next to the inn/Druid barn) that would prompt a "Pssst, buddy.." when you walk by and say "I'll get your stuff to a bank, you can trust me just uhh.. don't ask to get anything out of it cause I'm just a delivery man, ya know?" and let you just deposit stuff (bank screen, withdraw access denied)

Would allow you to bank stuff so you can keep exploring and still be "lore friendly" considering some of these shady people in game.
