Not strictly necessary, but missing skillups will mean missing damage you have to make up for elsewhere. After you have everything in the right speeds, the team is a pure damage check. Skillups are generally an easier way to get marginal damage than rune/artifact improvements

nah you need julie s3 to be fully skilledup at least

so that you can do s3 every other wave

#

having kyle s2 fully skillup also help reducing rune requirements a lot
