After asking around I am starting to get a better understanding of what runes I should be keeping but still have a few questions
For context I have completed PvE content and am farming Gaints. I am just starting to break through into some PvP content: ~1250 RTA, 2-3 really solid offenses built for siege so far.
I am starting this thread as to not spam the other discussion and contain all my thoughts in one place.
Right now I am going through my fatal rune stash and I think the runes that are keepable fall into 3 main catagories: 1) Attack DPS ( Atk + CR + CD) 2) Defense Scaling DPS ( DEF + CR + CD) 3) Bruisers ( some type of Atk + Hp + Def and either CR/RES/ACC )
And then just high roll triple rolls to maybe use as broken sets
A rune like this puzzles me. Right now it would definitely be a sell do to the fairly low rolls split between DEF and ATK correct? But hypothetically if it was a max roll DEF and ATK would a bruiser use it?

And then what rune sets are most ideal for a bruiser? Just the standard vio for PVP?
Like I could use a good fatal set on an attacker in siege but since a bruiser isnt all in on attack a fatal set is not worth much is that right?

And then a rune like this my logic pretty much follows this, Fatal rune so would be on some type of DPS. slot 6 ATK%, so would be used on an Attack based DPS, but high rolled into Def%. Def isnt needed on an ATK based dps so sell? And should have sold once it rolled into defense?

Any slot 6 with RES I can be a bit pickier right since they are more niche runes? Resistance and ACC are probably never used on a fatal slot 6 and this one isnt even particularly well rolled so sell, correct?
Are swifts pretty easy to manage? In my mind I should be selling all swift runes without speed and then putting my fastest swift sets on the guys who need them and then selling those that idk dont meet the speed of say my fifth fastest set? And then that is my new bar moving forward

no
one big category of pvp runes are for nukers/damage dealers
they use stat sets like swift fatal rage blade
the vast majority of these need some amount of speed to be tuned
depending on what team they're used on they may need as little as +100 speed, or as much as +200
so effectively swift fatal rage blade are all the same, because you need that balance of spd atk cr cd
and not "as much as possible" of any 1 thing
so maybe you use a swift set with just 10-15 spd on each rune, and then you end up with +100 and that's perfect

Im an idiot that makes sense and we did talk about that. I was confused about the idea of bruisers in my head but like we discussed they dont use stat sets so ---> spd only thing relevant on a stat set

Gotcha, I am trying to generalize things to much with broad strokes. I need to dial in and take a more indiviudal approach. Thanks for that write up helps me understand the stat set mindset better
Pure tanks are fine on just stat sets right?
So this rune would never be on a damage dealer but has enough HP to maybe slap onto a tank? Right now I dont have that many runes slot 1 with >25% so I think I could keep it but if I get in the future more energy runes with >25% hp I should sell it then?

there is a use for tanky runes yes
but again if its for pvp, it's going to be much more niche if its a stat set

This rune, on a slot 2 energy so really only a PvE rune. Rolled highish attack but on hp% maybe useful to meet some health requirement but no CR so seems useless for an attacker so -> sell?
But hypothetically if that was on a non stat rune set would it have potential to be kept or would that still be a sell?

Remember that the more premium stats are spd hp and cr
You rolled into relatively weaker substats, and this is a more niche slot/stat

So thinking about that would this vio be sold right away at +0 or would you / I just roll it because it is a vio legendary? So already a neiche slot 2 vio since not spd main stat. No cr or cd to go with the ATK main stat. And then two pretty trash sub stats in flat ATK and RES
