My question is, why is it important to be able to farm all rift beast s+? I get the fire and water to craft det and fight sets as well as reaps, but I don't see the benefit of farming them all

we look at it as time to help one increase their rune quality before entering the pvp scene.
it also makes farming reapp much quicker as you now dont have to worry about converting rift crystals that will be needed for powering up more runes
also the fact that if you cant S+ rank the rift, do you really think your ready to start doing pvp?

i don't think it's really a requirement
to complete summoners way you have to get S+ in all the rifts, that's why it's there i guess
i was able to do it by the end of PvE without any specific investment at all

there isnt a need to use one while your going through progression

sure, but rift is the last part of progression

that being said: after progression there comes a time where you've accumulated enough rift crystals from dailies and what not that the investment to make/evolve his skills isnt a problem as you already have everything to do it just sitting there
