Rune Crafting and Ancient Coins

It is absolutely worth it to craft runes. You should be happy when you get rune symbols as drops instead of actual runes, since rune crafting allows you to target specific sets. Even if you don't craft anything good, it's still a net mana gain (selling them gives you more mana on average than it takes to craft them).

There are 3 symbol colors, each of the 3 main cairos dungeons (giants, dragons necro) can drop all 3 symbols but they drop more of the main color for that dungeon. Giants will drop more green symbols, dragons will drop more red ones, necro more purple ones. So if you farm only giants and nothing else, you will end up crafting mostly giants runes, but will still be able to craft the occasional dragons and necro rune. This is pretty nice because you do need a will set to complete your raid team before you should start farming necro, and crafting the occasional will rune using symbols from farming giants is key to this.

In general, what should you craft?

Green symbols - swift. At the beginning it's ok to craft some blade as you need more of those during early progression. Avoid despair. Despair is not needed much in PvE, and is a lot more niche than people realize when it comes to PvP.

Red symbols - violent. Nothing else is worth even considering here.

Purple symbols - will. Rage is a bit underrated as an option, and it's ok to craft some rage instead of will at the beginning.

Ancient coins you'll get from events. You should not spend them on any of the monsters there until much later and you have a need for a specific one. Spend them all on runes (vio) or reapps, both are ok and it's personal preference. For me my preference is runes, I enjoy having depth.

nothing is going to specfically need rage to work
will is when you start getting closer to bj5 and after

#

but if your early yes, would start craft some blade runes to help you with runing your dmg dealers for rifts and such

Ah okay

#

you still want sigmarus however

#

In theory? Maybe?
Will it be as easy / consistent to build? Not really

no sig is not replaceable

between rune crafting materials, farming gb10, and some luck, you'd probably be further off restarting

# Should I Reset?

Resetting if you are a returning player unable to farm GB12 is often recommended because:
1. New accounts get 5 free rune sets that fully rune the recommended GB12 team.
(See ?justdoit).
2. New accounts get three 4☆s that speed up your Veromos and Sigmarus fusions.
3. New accounts get a 4☆ unit of their choice that can speed up PvE progression further OR provide them a key PvP 4☆
(Which 4☆ should you choose? see ?nat4event)
4. Players get so many scrolls from farming and events that fire/wind/water 4☆ and 5☆ units will eventually come with time. Meta also changes quite often, so what is now a good 5☆ may not be as strong a few months down the line when PvE is completed.

When should you definitely reset?
1. Account has very little progress (Couldn't farm GB12 [or GB10 if you quit before GB12 was introduced])
**AND**
2. No Light/Dark natural 4☆s or 5☆s / No notable Wind/Water/Fire natural 5☆s
