Make it a hidden role for hex master
Now, curses work like werewolf mauls, except with curses. Killing still works normally. The radius can be tweaked

OR

Occultist is merged into hex master, and becomes like a serial killer buddy, where it spawns with hex master. On hex master, there’s a setting for chance for it to spawn with occultist.
