Border issue

I promise this is not political. I am new to adobe express and am learning the best I can.

Simply, I have a project I created, imported a image file and the white border is larger than the file and I simple want to trim off the excess. around it without shrinking the actual image. I know how to do it if I were on paint and I could simply drag in the excess border. I don't know. I think I am rambling now but I hope it is enough info for someone to reach out and tell me the simple fix that I am missing.

You should be able to crop any image using the cropping shapes on the image outline that you see when you click on it.
