I'm not new to Adobe express, I'm used to making pictures and stuff, but not making videos.
#When I add an element to a video, it stays there for the whole video, how can I fix that?

You need to asjust its lengh in the tiome line
1st: Activate the layer timing at the bottom
select the elemnt, and see it appearing in blue in the timeline (see above)
Drag either end of the element timeline to shorten its lengh, note that you can see the lengh appearing in a black box when you do so
you can also drag it along the timeline once you've adapted the legh by just gragging it in the middle of the blue bar
when you do so, you can locate all the other elements with blue dots

When you hover over the dots, you can see a preview of those elements
