Grid lines almost impossible. Any tips?

Hello everyone. I've been trying to make a planning overview page. I just want blank boxes. I couldn't find any suitable in templates, so am using boxes. The problem is when I slot them next to each other, the boxes automatically make the lines bold (as they overlap on top of each other). I've spend hours trying to get the boxes to move this way and that, and I still can't do it. I tried creating what I wanted in pages (Mac) and exporting as an image, but I found the image quality no where as good as doing it within Abdobe Express. Any help gratefully recieved.

You could use lines instead of boxes and you'll be left with only one line width instead of two. To be honest I would still use boxes as a tempalet to have the first row neat, and then use the smart distribute function.

Don't forget that using the keyboard shortcuts help
For example ALT and Drag to duplicate a shape keeping its position and orientation
SHIFT to move an object and keeping it parrallel to the original position
ALT to display the smart guides for distribution (with dimensions) while moving
