I am trying to make a post on instagram and it's telling me something about the aspect ratio. Sure, I get it. Instagram has their sizing that they like. However, express is telling me to change my post to a reel. How do I do that? I don't see an option.

Are you trying to make a story (9:16 ratio) or a post (1:1, square post)?
Reels and stories have the same ratios, but reels are video/animated content, while stories can be animated or still (and are only 24 hours long, but that bit is not Adobe Express concern)

this is how a reel appears to me. It's a video, will download as a .mp4. A reel is basically a .mp4 post, in a 9:16 format (technically it can also be another format, but instagram messes those up)
But I don't think you can schedule them as is, you need to download and schedule later

I must have seleced story instead of reel when I started. then express tells me my aspect ratio is off. so I resized everything to fit within the post template. still says it's off but I can switch to a reel

to be 100% sure and not mess up with what you already done, the best bet is to create a new page from the same project and choose cutom size
copy the size I screenshot, this is the right ratio/dimension for instagram

Or better still choose "duplicate"
and then choose resize
that way you can double check if the size is correct.
The first advice I gave you will make you start over again. That's not the plan 🙂

You can still select all your layers and copy them (select and CTRL+A on a PC)
create a new project as a reel and paste all your layers on it
You cannot have all the asset choices on a free account. Maybe you chose premium assets?

If you're having trouble that don't seem right, sometimes clearing the cookies solves the thing though

Ah OK, maybe try another browser just in case, because you're supposed to allow pop-ups to use express so it might mess things up
supported browsers are Chrome, Edge and safari

Update here if you get it resolved with another browser, and/or with the cookies cleared.

ok, so I logged into my account with chrome. an option appeared in the share option to change the posting type (100% was not there before). I went back to my regular browser, and it showed up there now too. thanks!
