But some provider/models (e.g. Google Gemini 1.5 Flash 8B) will return 429 rate limit errors on their own and those get forwarded to you.

there was a specific problem with some of these gemini models
turns out google had been artificially capping us wayyy lower than we should have been
so a handful of high throughput users were saturating our ratelimits with google, and starving out other users like yourself
