Impossible to add my friend in a party

I don't know if it is from Playstation or the game. My friend who is own a ps5 and me, a ps4, I can't send him a request to join my party and he is already waiting in the main menu. I only saw him online but not "in the game", my friend need to send me a request to join his lobby to play together.

Also had this issue. Can confirm it's not just exclusive to PS4 and PS5 trying to play together but PS4 to PS4 as well.

Doesn't show a good few of my friends on the list whatsoever.
