#Smooth Early Combat Difficulty (Wolves)

One of the first issues I ran into was the early-game combat curve, especially when facing wolves right outside the main town. While blocking works very well against human NPCs, I haven’t been able to block animal attacks at all, like wolves, boars, etc. Because of that, I found myself dying repeatedly, making the early progression feel harsher than necessary. It might be a “skill issue” on my end, but the jump in difficulty still feels sharp compared to the rest of the early experience.

Suggestions →
• Slightly reduce the health of early-game wolves
• Slightly reduce their damage output near Haerndean
• Consider adding a more forgiving “first encounter” version of wolves near the starting area (fight less wolves for first mission/cave POI)

"The wolves are already weak, and it's not worth the effort to weaken them further. Plus, you can lure individual wolves out of the cave... so you won't have to face the entire pack. You also have an NPC companion who helps you out. As far as I know, there are no levels or anything like that; all wolves have the same strength, even later in the game, except that you will have improved your gear by then." 🙂

"For example, one could create young wolves, old wolves, alpha wolves, or something similar; whether the developers want that, I don't know."

The wolves are fine how they are. If you can't fight them, don't mess with them. It is easy to avoid them if you always have an eye on the minimap while roaming.

Later if you have higher skills and better weapons, they are easy to kill. A bow with archery on 3 and 2 sturdy arrows is enough, even with 3 of the simple arrows you can kill them. You just need to be quick. You can also climb on angular stones and they can't reach you. From there it is even easier.
