This suggestion aims to significantly improve settlement immersion by visually linking food consumption to a central, aesthetically pleasing marketplace, without overcomplicating the existing storage logic.

  1. The Core Building: The Market Stall Storage
We propose introducing a new tier of storage unit designed for food, which serves as the functional "hub" for NPC consumption.
  • Name: Market Stall Storage (or "Provisions Stand")

  • Category: Settlement / Storage (Unlockable at T2/T3)

Functionality:

Acts as a standard storage container (similar to a chest or small barn) for Food Rations only.

Players can stock it with various food items (Apples, Bread, Stews, etc.) and set inventory filters as usual.

NPC Behavior: When an NPC needs to eat, they are programmed to prioritize this structure as their source of food.

  • Immersion: The NPC approaches the stand, performs a brief interaction/animation at the counter (simulating taking food), and the item is deducted from the internal storage.

  • Design: A basic, roofed wooden frame with a counter. Crucially, the stall is initially empty, making it a blank canvas for decoration.

  1. Modular Aesthetic Decorations
To allow players full creative control and variability (as seen in the image), we should introduce a range of new, purely cosmetic deco items that can be placed on or around the stand.
