I bought a handful of chickens and then browsed this thread for around 5 minutes and when I get back in game, the chickens blocked me (jumped over) and then wouldn't follow even when on follow. I tried toggling 'stop following' and then following again. No dice. RIP gold and chickies.

basically your animals fall asleep at night even if they are somewhere in the forest
