This „sugar coating” represents seeds when they get planted
if indeed as you say its seed, it looks too white and should be centered in my opinion and the effect should be less pronounced, for wheat i could conceive, but for other crops where you got 1 plant, spacing, 1 plant, etc it looks weird, mostly that for the vast majority of seed the are not spread on the ground but pushed like a inch into the ground, imo, a browner strip representing where the seeds are planted and lwatered to help germination would be more realistic and appear less odd then that "sugar coating" effect.
humm, i beg to differ on the "sugar coating" being seed, i think on this photo whe can clearly see the seeds (beige dot on top of mount that is spread across it) and the shinny "sugar coat" i am talking appearing only on one side of the mount.
