If you experience a crash, please create a thread in #1147608045367590984 and post your entire save folder zipped:
Where do I find my save folder?
Your save folder is located here:
%localappdata%\bellwright\
How do I get to my save folder?
- Open 'Run' through the Windows Start Menu and paste the above link
- Press 'WIN + R' on your keyboard and paste the above link
- Open 'File Explorer' and paste the above link into the address bar
Zipping the folder
- Right click on the folder named 'Saved'
- Select 'Send To' -> 'Compressed (zipped) folder'
This will generate a zip file you can then upload
Uploading the zip file
- Drag and drop your zip file into Discord
OR - Use Discord's 'Upload a File' to upload the zip file
We need your crash logs and save file to investigate the issue 🙂
I'm playing with geforce now and it's not possible to post a crash log, but when the game approaches the settlement it suddenly freezes and this is too much.
It only happened 10 minutes ago, now I have to wait 35 minutes for the game to open again.
and after 10 minute playing crashed again
Without crash logs were unable to help much. We need to find the reason behind crashes and the only way to do that is through save files or crash logs.
I found this thread useful. Worth a shot:
Log and crash files as well as video config files (or potentially all of config files) are not being synced, generally speaking.
GFN is not a great service to use for Early Access because it's a massive PITA to troubleshoot (i keep seeing the same issues over on SCUM and other Early Access games).
You can try to contact Nvidia support staff and tell them to get these files for you.
@lavish tusk have you use any reporting tool like sentry. It might be good solution for the game. So users don't need to report logs
I don't have any other device to play on and I play on gfn, and I don't think this approach is right. I am a player and I report bugs. I could just delete the game and then request a refund from Steam. My aim is to help. If the developers play the game a little with a gfn account, they will see the situation for themselves, it shouldn't be too difficult anyway. Still thank you for your answer.
It's all about time management, since you are the one having issues it's almost trivial to replicate the problem if you give them save files.
Otherwise you are going blind and you might as well spend hundreds of hours chasing a ghost.
Most devs do not really prepare to have the game on GFN and it shows with no tooling of any kind that would help users help devs, it's what it is, by default, in general.
